In a residential quarter at just a few steps from the historical city centre, Casa Monica is 80% energy self-sufficient, thanks to a photovoltaic system on the roof for the production of electric energy and a geothermal system for under-floor cooling in summer and heating in winter. For these reasons, the two-floor house, which has built using timber from South Tyrol, is the first Italian building to have been awarded the GBC Home Platinum certification, according to the strict protocols of the American “Green Building Council”.
