“A Decade of Design”: ten years of Caesar Urban Lab London at Clerkenwell Design Week

Caesar will return to Clerkenwell Design Week, the UK’s leading independent design festival, with the concept “A Decade of Design”, from 19 to 21 May 2026 at its space on Great Sutton Street. The title celebrates ten years of Caesar Urban Lab London at Clerkenwell Design Week, confirming Caesar as the Italian ceramic brand that has most consistently contributed to transforming the district into a reference hub for architects and designers in the UK and internationally. A decade built on ceramic research and on strong relationships with London’s design community.

Since its opening, Urban Lab London has served as a point of reference for architecture and interior design studios in the UK market, combining material presentation with the development of direct relationships with practices and clients across the British landscape.
During Design Week, the Caesar showroom will host a programme in which each moment expresses Italian design as a culture shaped through making and sharing.
On 19 and 20 May, the space will also extend outdoors with a street food truck dedicated to the ultimate “made in Italy” dish—pizza—available from 13:00 to 15:00, creating an informal moment of connection. In the afternoon, from 15:30 to 17:00, Urban Lab will host two creative workshops: hands-on experiences where participants will be invited to work with Caesar ceramic material, creating mosaic compositions from surface fragments, or reinterpreting textures and patterns through textile experimentation with embroidered cushions. Two complementary activities that place design at the centre as a creative act, combining craftsmanship and aesthetic research.
From 17:30, with a DJ set and Italian aperitivo, the showroom will transform into a contemporary piazza—an informal setting where architects, designers and professionals can meet, exchange ideas and connect.

On 21 May, Urban Lab London will open for individual visits with a welcome breakfast, in a more intimate format dedicated to exploring the collections. On this occasion, the European preview of Hold will take centre stage—a new porcelain stoneware collection inspired by limestone, conceived as an essential, material-driven and contemporary design tool for architecture.
With “A Decade of Design”, Caesar brings to Clerkenwell Design Week a narrative consistent with the journey built over ten years at Great Sutton Street: not just a showroom, but a place for exchange and design culture, a point of reference for those who see Italian ceramics as an active material in architectural design.

Hold
The shape of stability
Hold is a porcelain stoneware collection created to give substance to spaces. It is designed for those who seek a solid material, capable of capturing the eye and defining projects with absolute restraint. The surface becomes the point where matter settles, transforming into the silent foundation of contemporary design. A reassuring presence that supports architecture: a balance that becomes essential in giving unity, rhythm, and meaning to every environment.
