Maranello Resort: Caesar surfaces between history and contemporary design Caesar Ceramics, The unique ‘material culture’ that identifies us comes from more than 30 years experience and innovation in the field of high-quality Italian porcelain tile, a guarantee of comprehensive technical know-how.

The Maranello Resort “Borgo Torre della Montina” features two hospitality structures in the Tiepido Valley: a newly constructed building and a restored medieval hamlet. The project required materials capable of responding to heterogeneous usage conditions—interiors, wet areas, exposed outdoor spaces, pool edges—while maintaining formal continuity between distinct architectural volumes.
Caesar surfaces created this continuity through neutral palettes and recurring formats, constructing a material system that guides the transition between historical and contemporary spaces.

Geometry and finishes: surfaces in interior spaces

In the living and dining areas, Join, the collection that combines the modernity of concrete with the elegance of resin in soft, tactile surfaces, in the 60x120 cm rectified finish, defined the horizontal planes of rooms and halls.
In the en-suite bathrooms, the Ivory and Moon shades of the same collection (60x120 cm, Soft finish) clad the walls. Ivory, with its warm off-white tone, and Moon, a neutral grey, created bright spaces where the surface softened reflections and provided a pleasant tactile grip, essential in high-humidity environments.

Outdoors: performance and safety

Outdoor surfaces must withstand specific mechanical and climatic stresses. Join GRIP (60x120 cm), the anti-slip version of the main collection, covered terraces, pathways, and stairs. The formal continuity between interior and exterior, enabled by the use of the same collection in different finishes, made the transition between conditioned rooms and open spaces perceptually seamless.
The pool perimeter features Portraits Brera 60x120 grip, paired with 30x60 cm Pool edges, while the walkway toward the surrounding hillside uses Step In, a collection where reclaimed stone and weathered concrete converge into a contemporary balance through warm hues, in the Taupe colour and 30x60 cm format.

Coordination between collections and design continuity

At Maranello Resort, Caesar porcelain stoneware facilitated the coexistence between the contemporary language of the new building and the historical layers of the medieval hamlet. The choice of neutral palettes and diversified finishes allowed the project to build relationships between heterogeneous volumes through material modulation alone, while architecture, furnishings, and graphic installations shaped the identity of each space. The project demonstrates how ceramic surfaces can act as connective tissue in layered contexts, where spatial continuity arises from the ability of surfaces to adapt, modulating presence and character.
