Voco Malta Hotel: Caesar Surfaces for Maltese Hospitality Caesar Ceramics, The unique ‘material culture’ that identifies us comes from more than 30 years experience and innovation in the field of high-quality Italian porcelain tile, a guarantee of comprehensive technical know-how.

St Julian’s hosts along its coastline one of the highest accommodation densities in the Mediterranean. Voco Malta Hotel integrates into this fabric through a strategy of elevation: the entrance is positioned on the fourth floor, where a 1,300-square-metre terrace defines the reception level, rising above street level. The bridge connects the VOCO hotel and LUMI to the InterContinental Malta hotel. This layout made material continuity a central requirement, and Caesar provided the solution with a system of porcelain stoneware surfaces calibrated to the technical and aesthetic needs of each area, while maintaining overall coherence through coordinated formats and palettes.Caesar Roof Pool Prima Grip Volare2

Room Terraces: Climate Resistance and Stone Effect
The room terraces, exposed to intense sunlight and the salt-laden coastal climate, required surfaces resistant to thermal cycles and weathering. The E.motions collection in the Trendy Black XT shade, 60×90 cm format, meets these conditions: it combines the natural beauty of stone with ceramic surfaces designed for outdoor use, featuring a 20-mm thickness to withstand frost and the temperature fluctuations typical of coastal installations.

Lumi Restaurant: Chromatic Differentiation as Spatial Organization
The outdoor area of the Lumi restaurant uses the Join collection, which blends the contemporary minimalism of concrete with the softness of resin, in the Ivory, Ginger, Sky and Fern shades, alternating the 60×120 cm and 60×60 cm formats. Warm nuances define the more sheltered dining areas, while cooler tones characterize the perimeter zones where the bay view becomes the focal element

Volare Pool: Anti-Slip Surfaces and Special Pieces
The Prima collection in the Chalk and Ecru shades, Grip finish, 60×60 cm format, covers the Volare rooftop pool. Prima reinterprets the essentiality of clay in a contemporary key through surfaces that ensure grip in the presence of water. Special pieces—pool edges and internal corners—complete the pool perimeter with shaped components.

Guest Bathrooms: Large Format and Marble Effect
A single vertical slab measuring 120×278 cm spans the full height of the walls in the guest bathrooms located near the fourth-floor reception, reducing visual fragmentation from grout lines. The Anima Wonder collection in the Gems shade expresses the elegance of marble through glossy surfaces with veining reminiscent of prized stones.

Continuity Between Buildings and Operational Durability
Since the hotel is articulated across two buildings, perceptual coherence was essential: guests experience the spa, gym and meeting rooms as natural extensions of the hotel. Caesar surfaces ensured this continuity through tones, finishes and formats that together establish a recognisable vocabulary, even as they adapt to the specific needs of each space.
