Installation with adhesives
Compared to standard thickness tiles Aextra20 slabs, installed using the traditional technique, offer a higher resistance to loads which is particularly suitable for carriageable floors.
Installation on draining mortar
The installation method with draining mortar and glued joints is particularly used in Northern Europe. The slabs must be laid with a bonding slurry. For the joints, both cement-based and synthetic resin mortars can be used. The laying bed must have a minimum thickness of 6 cm. This method complies with the German ZTV Wegebau 2022 standard.
Installation onto gravel
Aextra20 can be installed onto gravel substrates simply by placing the slabs adjacent to one another or creating pathways by installing individual slabs onto the gravel support. It is also advantageous to integrate, below the layer of superficial gravel, another layer of gravel and or pebbles in order to ensure perfect drainage. This installation solution is functional, quick and with a strong visual impact.
Installation onto grass
Aextra20 can be easily installed onto grass substrates simply by following the recommendations set out here: trace the encumbrance of the slabs and dig the substrate up to 3 cm. Then apply a layer of gravel to ensure perfect drainage and proceed with the installation of slabs always checking the planarity of the surface.
Installation onto sand
We recommend using Aextra20 during installation onto sand at bathing resorts: anti-slip, resistant to salt and wear, the slabs can be sunk into the sand to create stepping stones or placed close to each other. We advise using the light colours of the Aextra20 range, so as to limit the excessive overheating of the surface and to make the surface easier to walk over when barefoot.
Raised installation
For raised installation, Aextra20 slabs are installed onto supports with a distance of 3mm between adjacent slabs once the underlying footing has been duly layered with water-proofing materials. In this way, there is a technical gap below the foot-plan that can be easily inspected by lifting the slabs.
AextraFloor raised installation
AextraFloor is the new solution by Caesar for outdoor raised floors with dry installation. The system achieves top compositional freedom of Aextra20 tiles, multi-size installationsincluded. The substructure is formed by a grating originating a planar surface, stable and sure obtained through an interlocking system. AextraFloor is among the best solutions for gardens, courtyards and patios, both in living and commercial premises, being easy and quick to install.
